Barbara “Shorty” Gwynn Buscha, 57, of Smithville, Texas passed away on July 17, 2020. Shorty was born to Bobby and Evelyn (Toll) Buscha in Georgetown, Texas.
She is survived by her father, Bobby Buscha and wife Carolyn of Warda, Texas; sister, Brigitte Buscha (Steven Reedy) of Smithville, Texas; brothers, Robert Glenn Buscha of Bastrop, Texas and Bobby Buscha Jr. of Junction, Texas; nephew, Trey Buscha (Britney) of Poteet, Texas; niece, Ashton Buscha of Hickory Flats, Mississippi; great nephew, Rhett Buscha along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Buscha; grandparents, Gerhard and Minnie Buscha and Herman and Frieda Toll.
Shorty was baptized into the Lutheran faith at Grace Lutheran Church in Smithville and confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Bastrop. Shorty graduated from Bastrop High School in 1981. Her employment included numerous years with Brown and Root Inc.; Knife River Construction; and family owned businesses, Double B Construction and Buscha’s Seafood Restaurant.
Shorty enjoyed operating construction machinery, gardening, yardwork, putting together puzzles, completing word searches, refurbishing old furniture, exploring various arts and crafts, anything that involved working with her hands and most of all she enjoyed socializing and joking with friends.
Shorty will be missed by all who came to know her quick wit and spontaneous laugh.
Funeral Services for Barbara Buscha will be 10:00AM, Thursday, July 23, 2020 at All Faiths of the Pines located in Smithville, Texas. She will be laid to rest at Bethania Cemetery in the Greens Creek Community near Giddings, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Trey Buscha, Timothy Buscha, Ricky Zoch, Colter Zoch, Roland Zoch and Erik Hodges.
