Charlsie Carr

Charlsie L. Carr, died August 14, 2017. Charlsie was born November 11, 1930 in Holland, the daughter of William and Lillian Polk. She grew up in Bartlett. She married Ernest S. Carr and in 1956 moved to Austin. After the children were school age, Charlsie worked as a cashier at Kress's and later, Walgreens until retirement. She most recently resided in Smithville.
She was a gentle, kind, and happy person who loved to read, and care for her schnauzer, Cody. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest Carr, brother Bill Polk, sister Yettie Jordan, baby sister Lillian, and daughter Susan DuBois. She is survived by her sister, Sandra Wooley (Bill) of Bartlett, daughter Kitty Carr-Perez (Joe) of Kerrville, son Brett Carr (Karen) of Mason, three grandchildren: Abigail, Rebekah, and Adam.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 12:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church, and the funeral service will be at 1:00 PM.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville.
