Cynthia Ann Foster Hector “Cindy”, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Cindy was born in Smithville, Tx on January 3, 1948 to Byron and Lanellle Foster. She was a proud Smithville Tigerette, Class of 1966.
60 years ago, Randy and Cindy were childhood sweethearts and their love is now an everlasting one. She was a loving and dedicated wife and most of all, Best Friend. Of this love, four children were born, Amy, Glenn, Gary and Chad. She was a “Super Mom”! She was their cheerleader, taxi driver, den Mom, mentor, and most of all, loving supporter until the very end. Being a strong fighter, she beat cancer with ease, but unfortunately Covid and it’s complications took her away from us. Cindy was a talented pianist and enjoyed playing for her family and the church. Her love of the Houston Astros was developed early on from being a softball pitcher and baseball mom. She loved to hunt and fish, often showing up the men!! Her pets were very important to her and she never left home without them. Cindy was very proud of her manicured yards in Alvin, Smithville and at the deer lease. She worked tirelessly on the tractor and mowers, she probably put more miles on them than she did on her car!! In her later years, she loved going to the casinos and playing those slot machines, especially with her family. She got that from her dad, Papa. Since February, 1998 she and Randy successfully own Space Center Souvenirs in Webster, Tx.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Randy, her children, Amy Taylor and husband, Nathan, Glenn Hector, Gary Hector and wife, Monica, and Chad Hector. Also surviving her are her grandchildren, Lauren, Monique and Garrett Hector. Siblings are David Foster, Becky Kelly and husband, John, Tim Foster and wife, Gayle. In-Laws, Beverly Davis, Bill Hector and wife, Diana. Plus several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins as well as many friends and associates.
Pallbearers are Justin Kelly, Kyle Kelly, Tom Davis, Neal Hector, John Flowers, Jr., Adam Johnson, John Johnson, and Nick Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Smithville, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
