Clay attended a couple of his grade school years in Smithville. He played little league baseball until his high school years. While attending high school in Bastrop, Clay was the quarterback for the Bastrop Bears.  He also played baseball for the bears as a pitcher and 1st baseman. He was a huge animal lover but more than that he was a diehard sports fan.  He watched it all and to say he lived and breathed sports is an understatement.  Those that knew Clay knew his teams were without a doubt the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys.  Clay also had a love for music and singing.  He had the ability to play by ear on the piano.  His son, Garren also has the love of music and talent of singing.  Caleb and Garren also share his love of sports.

He will be missed but always remembered by his children,  parents and siblings along with 5 nieces, 1 nephew, 1 great niece and 3 great nephews along with many cousins and friends.

Clay was preceded in death by his son, Caylen Randall, his daughter Kerrie Randall, his grandparents Clarence and Emma Jean Stagner and Charles Luther and Myrtle Randall.
