Doris Ann Goertz, 72, of String Prairie, was called from this life on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Doris was born June 19, 1950 in Bastrop, TX to Alex and Hilda Frerich of String Prairie. She is survived by her 3 sons: Chuck and wife LeeAnn, Pat and wife Dana, Chris and wife Alesha; her 10 grandchildren: Wyatt, Karrie and husband Cameron, Cade, Dylan, Kylie, Samantha, Kinsey, Brooke, Luke, and Bodie.
Growing up, Doris loved her parents, and enjoyed the full attention that came with being an only child. She graduated Smithville High School in 1968 and married the love of her life, Charles Allen Goertz, on June 26 1971. Doris worked at IRS for 10 years until 1978 when she became a stay-at-home mom and spent the rest of her life raising her family. Very soon after, to get a break from the three boys, she became an Assistant Post Master in Rosanky until 2009. After Charles passed in 2013, she struggled with a broken heart that she never overcame. Soon after she developed dementia and later transitioned through Alzheimer’s disease. As a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many, she was generous, sweet, loving and kind. May the peace of our Lord be with her.
Pallbearers will be Wyatt Goertz, Cade Goertz, Dylan Goertz, Luke Goertz, Bodie Goertz, Nicholas Goertz, Tyler Foerster, Ty Ott.
