Dusty Prochazka

Dusty Buck Prochazka, 46, went to be with our Lord December 24, 2023. He was born in Alice, Texas on April 2, 1977.

Dusty worked in the oilfield as a Directional Driller for Anadrill Directional, H&P Drilling, and Wellbenders Directional Services. He was a hard worker and always took on extra days wherever he could. In his downtime he was an entrepreneur for landscaping, tree trimming to home construction.

Dusty loved hunting and fishing with his father, son and brother. He loved hiking with his son, Blake, in the hill country or riding scooters through the parks around downtown Austin. He recently joined a skateboarding club. Dusty loved to travel and take photos of his adventures.  He was an avid chess champion and video gamer who played online with his son (from their own homes). However, most of all Dusty was a loving, caring, thoughtful and generous person.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Augustine “Gus” Charles Prochazka, Sr. of Alice, Texas and Mary Frances Stieler (Ernest) of Victoria, Texas; Maternal grandparents, Robert Lee and Mady Parker of Alice, Texas; and aunt, Annie Mitchell of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Dusty is survived by his son, Dusty Blake Prochazka; father, Charles Prochazka (Lyna); mother, Hilde Sanders (Al); brother, Lee Prochazka (Annie); and sister, Devin Prochazka (Trevor); nieces and nephews, Landon, Naomi, Logan, Tallahassee, Chloe, Weston and Maisie.

Dusty was a kind and generous soul and will be sorely missed. He shall forever be with us and remain in our thoughts and prayers.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dusty Blake Prochazka, Colby Prochazka, Oscar Silva, Shawn Mitchell, Michael Rush, Bryan Sandoval, Gage Parker, and Landon Kilpela.

Services will be at Marrs Jones Funeral Home on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

The visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm with burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery.

The funeral home is located at 110 American Legion Road in Smithville, Texas.
