Edward Chester Kubicek

April 24, 1954 — November 20, 2024

Edward Chester Kubicek, born April 24, 1954, passed away on November 20, 2024. He was born in Smithville, Texas to parents Chester Kubicek and Mildred Kubicek. Edward worked at the Post Office for 40 years and made an imprint on everyone he met. He spent his time golfing, vacationing in Galveston whenever he had a chance and he loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and even got to see the Houston Astros play live at Minute Maid Park.

He loved supporting his children in every aspect of their lives, no matter what he always made sure they knew he was proud of them. He loved his children so deeply, that he would drive to the park and shine lights for them so they could practice disc golf late at night.

He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and encouraging them to go after their dreams. Every chance he got, he was there to cheer them on, give comforting hugs, or let the “cow eat the corn” to get some giggles out of them.

If you didn’t know Edward, it didn’t take long to love him; he never met a stranger. He enjoyed the simple things in life: like sitting in a rocking chair and just enjoying the breeze out at Murdoch’s and when he loved, he loved hard.

His laugh, bird calls, jokes and overall presence will be missed greatly, but his spirit lives on through his children and grandchildren and will continue to shine through to guide us.

Edward is survived by his sister, Cecilia Ann (Kubicek) Lehman, and brother in law Randolph Lehman of Austin, Texas; son Logan Kubicek and daughter in law Shelly Kubicek, with his granddaughter Ella Kubicek, and grandsons Everett and Easton Kubicek of Flatonia, Texas; his daughter Julia (Kubicek) Bullock and her husband Nicholas Bullock of Bastrop, Texas; and his daughter Carlea Kubicek and boyfriend Braden Vacek of Rosanky, Texas. All of whom he loved and cared for very much.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Marr-Jones Funeral Home. Reciting of the Rosary will begin at 7:00pm during visitation hours.
