Funeral Services for Ernest Becerra 52 of Giddings, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Smithville, Texas. Burial will follow at Powell Cemetery. Visitation will be held at All Faiths of The Pines on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Ernest passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020 at Del Seton Hospital in Austin, Texas. Ernest was born on August 12, 1967 in Smithville, Texas to Luiz and Antonia (Garcia) Becerra. He graduated from Smithville HS in 1986. He was a member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Giddings and was employed by Triple AAA well Service as an operator/supervisor. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed yard work, being outside, welding, teaching his son Fabian how to do new things and working with the cattle. He was a hard worker and loving husband, father, grandfather and son. He loved telling stories to his grandchildren. He was the backbone of his family.

He was preceded in death by his father Luiz Becerra, his sister Janie Garcia, a nephew Luiz Garcia, Father in law Daniel Ramos, brother in law Daniel Ramos Jr, grandparents; Juan and Regina Becerra, Serapio and Lucy Garcia and his nephew Baldo Garcia.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Becerra of Giddings, his children Christina of Giddings, a son Fabian of Giddings. Grandchildren Christian, Landon, and Alfonso of Giddings. His mother Antonia (Garcia) Becerra of Smithvile, and numerous aunts’ uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Nick Ramos, Phillip Ramos, John Frank Carrasco, George Carrasco, Lazaro Soto and Stephen De Leon. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Carrasco, Paul Carrasco and Gabriel Ramos. Monetary donations to offset medical expenses can be made to Round Top State Bank in Giddings.
