Francis Borders

Francis Neil Borders was born in Kansas City, Ks on July 1st, 1927 to O.E. and Iva Borders.
He passed away October 10th, 2018.

He graduated from Argentine High School in 1945, then enlisted in the Navy. He retired
in 1983 after working for Pioneer Natural Gas Co. for 26 years.

He married Joyce Marie Burton in 1950. They raised three daughters. He lived in Smithville,
Texas, and has been a member of the Cedar Valley Baptist Church since May 1999.

Neil is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard and Keith Borders. He is
survived by his wife Joyce, daughters Sherry Borders, Gloria Lyons, and Vickie Doyle, one
son-in-law David Doyle, Granddaughter Wendy Doyle, Grandson Matthew Doyle and one
Great Grandson Kiernan Doyle, two brothers Jay and Lee Borders, one sister, Vivian Hughes
and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 9-11am at Cedar Valley Baptist Church (1905 FM969, Elgin, Texas on
Monday, October 15th, 2018, with service starting at 11. Interment to follow at Oak Hill
Cemetery in Smithville, Texas.
