Genelle P. Churchill, 93, of Smithville, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2019.
She was born to the late Henry and Minnie Polansky, January 23, 1926, in Smithville, TX. Genelle graduated from Smithville High School and attended the University of Texas before marrying Frank W. Churchill. Frank & Genelle moved several times while Frank was in the Air Force before settling back in Smithville to raise their family.
Genelle was known for her love of music and dance and she always had music playing and would dance around her kitchen to various polka songs. As her great-grandchildren grew, they could often all be found in the kitchen dancing. Genelle also loved reading and worked to ensure that her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were surrounded by books.
Genelle is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Churchill, her parents, Henry & Minnie Polansky, her sister, Helen Delmar, her brother Edward Polansky, and son-in-law Danny Bogart. Genelle is survived by her children, DeLila Bogart and Wesley Churchill and his wife Sandi, her grandchildren David Bogart and Darla Guerra and her husband Neil, and two great granddaughters Genna Genelle and Gentry Geneen Guerra.
A celebration of Genelle’s life will take place on Thursday, September 19, 2019 @ 10am at the All Faiths of The Pines Chapel in Smithville.
