Helen Whitley

Helen Whitley, 85, of Smithville passed away November 27, 2016. She was born to Esther (Driessner) and Emil Steglich on October 1, 1931. She married Glen Whitley on October 30, 1971 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Serbin.

Helen worked at the Texas Education Agency for twenty years and Bluebonnet Electric seven years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters Lorraine Zoch and LaVerne Folks; brothers Milton and Edward Steglich; step-daughter Becky and husband Ernest Carter, and step-grandson Scott Lyle.

Helen is survived by her husband, Glen; step-daughters Glenda LaBelle, (Glenn), and Pat Garbade, (David).

Visitation is Friday, December 2, 6 - 8 PM at Marrs-Jones Funeral Home, Smithville. Funeral service Saturday, December 3, 2016 1 PM at Grace Lutheran Church, Smithville with burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery, Smithville, Texas.
