Henry Fendley

September 14, 1936 — December 9, 2020

Smithville

Henry Jack Fendley was born Sept. 14, 1936. He went to be with his Lord and Savior Dec. 9, 2020 after many long battles with strokes and four years in nursing homes. We know he is in heaven, watching over us, waiting until we see each other again.

Dad was a very friendly soul who never knew a stranger. He loved bingo,(although he always got mad at  the man drawing the numbers.) He also loved fishing and picking up pecans with his brother David. He loved football, especially the Smithville Tigers and would attend as many games as he could. He would have me mention his Dallas Cowboys, who we fought over many a Sunday afternoon. His favorite food was Zimmerhanzels BBQ and always bragged DeeDee would put a little extra on his plate.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Lee “Blue” Fendley, and Emma May (Beran) Fendley; brothers, David, Bobby, and Jim; sister, Betty; wives, Janice Mary (Miksch)Fendley (mother) and Norma (Villasanes) Fendley.

He is survived by his sister, Mattie Ruth; only son, Donnie Joe Fendley and wife Amanda; granddaughter, Brandi Lynn Fendley; and his longtime friend and companion Sandra Meyer.

Family and Friends will gather from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday May 13, 2021 at Marrs Jones Funeral Home. A Celebration of Henry Jack Fendley’s life will begin at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Marrs Jones Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Murphy officiating.
