James Herman Caldwell, 92 years old, passed away September 25th, 2024, in Smithville, Texas. He was born in Smithville, Texas on January 28th, 1932, to the late Frank Caldwell and the late Lillian Bank Caldwell. He is preceded in death by LaFerne Orsak Caldwell and by his latest wife, Patsy Covan Scoggins Caldwell, whom he married in Smithville, Texas in 1988. He graduated high school and went on to join the Army and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged from the Army. He went on to study drafting in the oil industry. He also attended First Baptist Church in Smithville, Texas. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Smithville. And he was also on the Smithville City Council in the past. He got his private pilot’s license. He is survived by two sons, Lawrence Caldwell of La Grange, Texas, and Steven Caldwell of Friendswood, Texas. He is also survived by two daughters, Sharon Scott of Alvin, Texas and Deborah Tucker of Tomball, Texas. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Marrs-Jones Funeral Home in Smithville on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. with burial following at Oak Hill cemetery in Smithville, Texas.
