Jarrett Thompson - renowned bird-dog trainer and owner of Old South Pointer Farms and husband of Dawn Thompson owner of Best Friends Boarding Kennel, went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Rhoda Thompson; daughter, Ginger Thompson; and sister, Jeannine Witt.
Jarrett is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dawn; daughters, Kimberly Simpson of Rosanky (Rick), Nanci Greene (Bruce) of Danielsville, Georgia, Courtney Smith (Jonathan) of Dalton, Georgia; stepchildren, Laura Tonjes (Steve) of Grand Prairie, Scott Ehrenfeld of Port Charlotte, Florida; daughter-in-law, Valerie Ehrenfeld of Port Charlotte, Florida; grandchildren, Aaron Simpson (Angela), Matthew Simpson (Gianni), Cody Greene, Ryan Greene (Mary), McKenna Wooten, Julia Tonjes, Luken Tonjes, Lyla Ehrenfeld, Noah Ehrenfeld; great-grandchildren, Andi and Wade Simpson; his sister, Janice Harvey of Cambridge; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Jarrett's life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Colorado River Cowboy Church. The church is located at 5122 East Highway 71 in Smithville, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kindred Hospice (1911 Corporate Dr. St. 104, San Marcos, TX 78666) in honor of Carl Jarrett Thompson.
