(Jack) John Charles Sabrsula entered into eternal rest on July 30, 2017. Jack, the son of Walter and Sophronie Moore Sabrsula, was born on November 10, 1929 at home on the farm in Plum, Texas. He attended Plum Public School and worked on the Morgan farm. He met the love of his life, Christine Dornak at a dance in the Plum Catholic Church dance hall. They were married on October 7, 1950 and moved to Smithville, Texas where they lived and raised three children.
Jack worked for E.O. Sharp Butane for many years until he opened his auto mechanic shop in 1973. He loved to restore old cars and tractors, hunt and spend time camping and fishing on the Colorado River at Kirtley, Texas. Jack also loved to play the harmonica, work in the garden and listen to polka music on the LaGrange radio station.
Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Christine Sabrsula; his daughters, Kathleen Hrna (Daniel), Carolyn McMillan (R.C.), and son Johnny Sabrsula; seven grandchildren, Misty Lee (Brent), Ryan Hanzelka (Lenka), Wendy Denbow (David), Dori Honohan (Mike), Allison Regier (Joseph), Allisia Sabrsula, and Adam Sabrsula; eight great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Mildred Loraine, Betty Reed, Minnie Meyer and Lois Stahl (David).
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers Vivian, Frank and John Sabrsula, and great-grandson Brennen Honohan.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, August 4, 2017 at All Faiths of the Pines Funeral Home, Smithville, Texas. Holy Rosary will be recited following the visitation, starting at 7:00 PM, at All Faiths of the Pines.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Smithville, Texas. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Smithville.
