Mrs. Judy Thetford Stacy, 79, died on May 12, 2019 at her home in Smithville, Texas

Judy was born, January 22, 1940, in Olton, Texas, to Jack and Anna Lauderdale. In 1945, Judy and her family moved to Levelland, Texas. She graduated from Levelland High School and attended South Plains College studying Home Economics. On May 24, 1957, she married her childhood sweetheart Norman Lee Thetford. They enjoyed over 32 years of marriage until Norman’s death in February of 1990. In 1980, they moved from Denver City, Texas to Smithville, Texas when the company that Norman worked for opened an office there. Judy started working at the Smithville High School as a substitute teacher until she joined the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, first working at Buescher Park and then at McKinney Falls until her retirement in 2002. On June 29, 1996, Judy married Mr. Jimmie Stacy a widower with three children, Tylene (Jimmy) Trousdale, Neala (Larry Lynn) Stacy and Dori Stacy of Smithville. Judy was married to Jimmie until he passed away in August 18, 2011. Judy was an active member of the Community participating in Hearts & Hands, Quilt Club, Widows Luncheon Club and a regular volunteer for her Faith Family at the Smithville Church of Christ.

Judy is preceded in death by Jack Lauderdale, her father, Anna Lauderdale, her mother, JB Lauderdale, her brother, Norman Thetford, Husband, Jimmie Stacy, Husband, Cindy Blessen, Niece, Brad Lauderdale, Nephew, Matt Thetford, Nephew. She is survived by her Sister Mary (D.C.) Caswell, Sister and children Kathy Rossingol, David (Alice) Thetford, and Scott (Jeanne) Thetford, (sixteen) grand children Courtney (Ryan) Bayer, Blair (Paola) Trousdale, Caitlin (Tristan) Pohler, Dareld (Caroline) Morris III, Seger (Kellie) Morris, Kody (Katy) Lyytinen, Kevi (Joel) Duty, Tres Lyytinen, Lauren Dodson, Shannon Dodson, Caitlin Thetford, Stephanie (Rufus) Brenneman, Drew Thetford, Lee Thetford, William Thetford, Jeffrey Thetford. (Seventeen) great-grandchildren, Emery Bayer, Hudson Bayer, Adia Morris, Finley Morris, Dareld Ray Morris IV (Cort), Daniel Trousdale, Alec Trousdale, Aniston Morris, Stacy Jo Morris, Blayne Lyytinen, Amelia Pohler, Jenna Pohler, Tripp Pohler, Braxton Berger, Bexley Berger, Chancy Duty, Aleighn Jade Thetford.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at the Church of Christ of Smithville.
