Julia Pauline Donnell

Julia Pauline " Polly" Donnell passed away January 23, 2021 at the age of 104.

Julia Pauline Hoffman Donnell known as Polly to her friends was born in Flatonia, Texas and grew up in Fayette County.

Polly was a long time resident of Smithville, Texas. She married W.A. Donnell on August 6th in 1942. In the 40’s Polly owned a cafe that served many railroad workers and she also worked downtown in Smithville at several stores for many years. She loved sewing, tending her beautiful flowers, volunteering at the nursing home, baking, dominoes and her church since the 1940s, Smithville First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by, daughter Norma Donnell Wolf of Austin who has been her loving caregiver for the past 5 years, grandson Mark Wolf and wife Laura, granddaughter Missy Wolf Zacharis and husband Gary, 7 great grandchildren Kaley, Drew, Madison, Mason, Kaylee, Travis, Bubba, sister Edith Cameron of Smithville, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 4 sisters, and 2 brothers.

Graveside Services will be held to celebrate Polly's life at 1:00pm on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville, Texas.
