Junell Mcbee

July 6, 1929 — August 25, 2018

Junell Carlson McBee, 89, of Smithville, Texas died Saturday, August 25, 2018 surrounded by her family.

She was born to the late Henry and Ruth Carlson, July 6, 1929 in Creedmoor, Texas.  She married her loving husband of 66 years, J.D. McBee, on January 26, 1952 in Brady,
Texas.  They moved to Smithville and made it their home in 1960.

Junell was an active member of First Baptist Church. She served in many capacities, sharing her gift of hospitality whenever possible.  She served as Garden Club President for three years.  She also enjoyed Woman’s Club, her Study Club and her Sewing Club.  Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.

Junell is survived by her husband, J.D.; daughter Kay Lynn Logan and husband Neal of Cleburne, Texas; son Greg McBee and wife Angela of Masdisonville, Texas; grandchildren Josh McBee and wife Erika of Washington, D.C.; Jonathan McNutt of Austin, Texas; Hillary Whitfield and husband John of Dallas, Texas; Hailey McNutt of Arlington, Texas; Cash McBee and fiancé Seth Gillespie of Canyon, Texas; Chase McBee of Madisonville, Texas; step-grandsons Justin Dartez and family of Madisonville, Texas; Tyler Dartez of The Woodlands, Texas; Dylan Pugh and fiancée Taylor Richbourg of Madisonville, Texas; Trent Logan and family of Lawton, Oklahoma; Preston Logan and family of Highland Village, Texas; brother-in-law Daymon McBee of Brady, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dear family friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mary Helen Jensen, Dorothy Carlson, and Betty Jean (Patsy) Nelson; sister-in-law Wanda McBee; and one grandson, William Henning McBee.

Junell was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a very special woman and a wonderful Christian example and inspiration to all who knew her.  She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to First Baptist Church, Smithville,

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, Smithville Monday, August 27 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 28 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
