Lucy Rhames

Lucy Rhames, 90, a resident of Smithville, was born July 23, 1931, in New Iberia, Louisiana and passed away on January 5, 2022, in Georgetown, Texas.

Lucy loved angels and we know she is walking among them.  She had a genuine love and kindness for everyone around her.  She loved her family and served at First Baptist Church Smithville and in the Eastern Star.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Evest & Edmedia Romero; husband, L. C. Rhames; brothers, Ronald and Jesse, daughter-in-law, Betsy; granddaughter, Tracy; great granddaughter, Lucy; her in-laws, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, and many friends.

Lucy is survived by her children, Robert, Mack & wife Wilma, and Jeri & husband Larry; her pride and joy grandchildren, Stacy & husband David, Brian & wife Sarah, Mandy & husband John, Nick & wife Amy, and Justin & wife Sarah. She was blessed with her joyous great grandchildren, Haley, Maggy, Aiden, Blake, Zoe, Miley, Zach, Livia, Caleb, and Jude;  brother, Gerald Romero and wife Connie; in-laws, Jerry Rhame & wife Terrye, Alice Rhame, Sandy Roberts & husband Leon; as well as numerous loved nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Smithville at 1:00 p.m.  The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church Smithville or the scholarship fund of The Eastern Star, Chapter 39.
