Peggy Marie Dyer was born on August 31, 1941 in Taylor, TX to Elzie Weaver and Josie (Kelly) Weaver. She grew up and spent her school years in Smithville, TX. Peggy was a Christian and loved God and her church. She was a faithful servant of Christ. The things in life Peggy loved most was God and family, followed by her friends. Peggy worked at the old Smithville hospital and continued on at the new location for 35 years. She began as a nurses aide and then later worked X-ray and laboratory and finally in respiratory until retirement. She was an asset to the hospital and loved her time there.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Elzie and Josie Weaver; husband, Leroy Dyer; son, Bryan Strong; granddaughter, LeAnne Gladwell; two sisters, Betty Dees and Dorothy Nichols; brother, Dan Tucker; brothers-in-law, Lee Dees and Sonny Nichols; nephew, Danny Nichols.
Peggy is survived by one daughter, Kim Gladwell; two granddaughters, Kristy Strong & Brittney Strong; three great-granddaughters, Nilah Graham, Leksy McCracken, Shelby Willett; and one great-grandson, Gage Graham; and various nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be December 3, 2021 from 5:00pm-8:00pm in the chapel of Marrs-Jones Funeral Home in Smithville. Graveside services will be December 4, 2021 at 10:00am in Oak Hill cemetery.
