Richard L. "Ricky" Phillips went home to be with the Lord on April 18, 2019 at the age of 77.
Ricky was born in December of 1941. He was an athletic child, and later participated in several sports in High School. After graduation from High School Ricky went on to be an honored part of the US Airforce and flew his flag proudly. Ricky loved his family and friends more than anything else in his life and was always coaching someone in some kind of sport. In his retirement years he really enjoyed playing golf, especially with his Canadian by way of Australia, friend Terry, his son, grandsons and sons-in-laws. Ricky managed to have a positive impact in the lives of everyone he met. In the last year, since entering the nursing care center, Ricky even made friends with some of the staff. His favorite of course was Ashley. He will be terribly missed by everyone lucky enough to have known him.
Ricky is survived by his wife of 26 years, Maureen Cox-Phillips; six children, David Phillips (Nancy), Chaundale Guerra (Atilano), Kathy Leikam (George), Karen Kawaja (Freddy), Charles Cox (Paula), Debbie Galindo (Adrian); fourteen grandchildren, Andrew, Monique, Parker, Donovan, Atilano, Anna, Mandy, Adam, Joshua, Amanda, Thomas, Jeremy, Keali, and Kallyn; fifteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenny Phillips (Bim), Terry Phillips (Linda), a sister, Judy Bayes (Bobbie), his friend John "Terry" Denham; and several extended family and friends.
