Stephen M. Haschke "Hockey"

Stephen Mark Haschke was born the fifth child of Henry Eugene and Mildred Marie Haschke in LaGrange hospital on March 18, 1953. He passsed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024 in Austin. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Norma "Mitzie." He is survived by four children Scott Haschke of Austin, and Phillip Haschke of Marble Falls, and April Wiggins and husband Shane Wiggins of Winchester. He has six grandchildren, Phillip Haschke, Jr, Dylan Haschke, Bryson Haschke, Stephan Dubose, Cade Wiggins, and J.J. Wiggins.

He is also survived by siblings Nancy Janecek, Larry Haschke and wife Kelly, John Haschke and wife Lorre, and Charles Michael Haschke and wife Debbie of Fairborn, Ohio. Also survived by many cousins and numerous friends who will sorely miss him. 

Also survived sister-in-laws, Ginger Bennett, Bettie Croisant and husband Joe, Dorothy Brame. And Billie Northcutt and husband Bobby; and brother in-law Bubba Ladewig.

He is preceded in death by his Father Eugene Haschke and Mother Mildred Marie Collom. Also by Grandparents Otto J. and Blandina Haschke of Winchester and Charles W. Collom and Clara Marie St. Clair of Glendale, California.

Also Mother and Father-in-law, Fannie and OL Ladewig.

You will never find anyone with a bigger heart and loving and helping others. He is a 40 year veteran serving on the MKT and Union Pacific Railroad. He especially enjoyed his deer hunting at the lease with friends, also spending time at BBQ cook-outs and family occasions. There were many cruises that he and Mitzi enjoyed together over the years.

Stephen was a good Christian, baptized and confirmed at St. Michaels Lutheran Church. He even attended the church school in the early years of his schooling days.

Pallbearers Scott Haschke, Phillip Haschke, Shane Wiggins, Brian Janecek, Chris Haschke and David Haschke.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Marrs Jones Funeral Home in Smithville, Texas.

The visitation will begin at 12:00pm and the service will begin at 1:00pm with burial following at the Winchester City Cemetery. 

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: St. Judes, Shriners, or the Winchester Volunteer Fire Department.
