Sherryl Lynn Orsak, better known as T.K., was born to Victor Martin & Sharon Kaye Orsak on September 9, 1961, in Jacksonville, Texas. Although most people were told and believed that T.K. stood for Tiny Kaye, the truth is funnier. T.K. was born early. Our Daddy, who had large hands, could hold her in his palm and upon holding her for the first time said, “Why, she’s just a little turd knocker” which was shortened to T.K. Now you know the big family secret.
T.K. attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Lufkin until mid- 5th grade when the family moved from Nacogdoches, Texas to Marshall, Texas where she completed her education through high school. In 1985, she moved to Smithville to be with Kaye, her mother. For a short time, she worked for the Texas Senate and then left to enroll at and attend Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas. She graduated college in 1995, earning a BA in Graphic Arts. Upon completing her degree, she went to work for the state again as a Graphic Designer. T.K. retired from the State in August 2021. T.K. was active at First United Methodist Smithville from the day she arrived. She was active in Walk to Emmaus, Sunday school, choir, & the youth puppet show. T.K. was also involved in the church governing. T.K. was loved by most people she encountered and will be missed by everyone she knew and loved.
T.K. is survived by brother, D’Wayne and his wife, Gloria Orsak. She is also survived by their daughter and her loving niece, Kendyl Elise Orsak.
